Message	I had a similiar issue after a trans pull and install. I had the two adjustment nuts where the shift lever arm meets the linkage rod out of spec so the detents in the shifter did not match the selected gear on the trans. Some trial and error got it back to normal. There are washers and cotter pins holding all that shit together under the car so I would check there first.... Hope I could help.
